For dog owners in Telluride and the surrounding Southwest Colorado region, providing enriching experiences for their canine companions is a top priority. Since 2018, Telluride K9 Adventure School has been offering a unique blend of adventure-based dog training, structured day camps, overnight boarding, behavioral consulting, and premium pet concierge services.
Unlike traditional kennel-style boarding, Telluride K9 Adventure School immerses dogs in outdoor activities such as guided hikes, trail adventures, swimming, biking, camping, and social pack interactions. These experiences are designed to build confidence, enhance fitness, and promote positive behavior in a natural setting.
Owned and operated by Sierra Hawksley, an Applied Canine Ethologist, the school emphasizes a science-based, welfare-first philosophy. This approach considers each dog’s individual learning style, genetics, environment, and personality, ensuring personalized care that fosters healthy socialization and emotional well-being.
In addition to dog training and boarding, Telluride K9 Adventure School offers pet sitting, drop-in visits, transportation services, wedding and event pet handling, and care for a wide variety of animals, including horses, livestock, birds, reptiles, and exotic pets. The company is fully licensed and insured through the Colorado Department of Agriculture (PACFA) and has built a reputation for professional, reliable, and highly personalized care that allows pets to thrive in natural outdoor environments.
